The whole armour of God (continued)

Hi, welcome to my blog. This is day 12/365 of blogging everyday for a year. In the previous blog entry, I was talking about the whole armour of God. The armour that keeps us ever ready for battle. For the bible says that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places.(Ephesians 6:12)

In the previous blog entry, I have mentioned the first two pieces of armour as mention in the bible. You can check out the scripture in the bible for yourself, Ephesians 6:10-20.

3. Put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace as shoes for your feet.
Having feet/shoes fitted with the gospel of peace allows us to be ready and prepared at all times.
Common misinterpretation/misrepresentation about the scripture ; "put on the gospel of peace as shoes on our armour", that is not right. The bible tells us that the gospel of peace is what will enable us to be ever ready
Gospel of peace is basically the good news of salvation.
We receive the Good news from the bible.
The mentioning of shoes represents direction  because we wear shoes on our feet and walk in different directions.
The bible, being the manual of life guides our steps.
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus"~ Philippians 4:7

4. Take up the shield of faith
Use of a shield in battle: with a shield, you can parry/block an opponent's attack while counter attacking.
Purpose of the shield: to extinguish the flaming darts of the evil one.
In all circumstances means we should always have our shields of faith at hand.
"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction os things not seen"~Hebrews 11:1
"And without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists, and that He rewards those who seek Him."~Hebrews 11:6
Very first reference to a shield in the bible: "fear not Abram, I am your shield, your reward shall be great."~Genesis 15:1.
Abraham is someone who exercises a lot of faith, God promised him as many descendants as the starts in the sky, at that time he didn't even have a single child, and his wife was old, but he had faith.
"And Jesus said to him "Have you believed because you have seen me?Blessed are those who have not seen, but yet have believed. ""~John 20:29 In other words, blessed are those who have faith.

That is it from me today, come by tomorrow as we continue talking about the whole armour of God. Remember to engage, follow, share, and watch out for my next post...

I love you, and Jesus loves you more.
